How to apply

First read our Guide to becoming a CPD provider; then lodge a CPD session proposal with OFT.

If you need help completing your proposal, view these examples:

Approval process

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) is responsible for assessing CPD session proposals to ensure they meet the required standards and align with CPD objectives. Each session must be approved by the Commissioner for Fair Trading.

Industry advisory panel

As part of the approval process, OFT seeks input from an industry advisory panel.

The panel reviews submissions and provides recommendations to the Commissioner on each proposal based on how well it meets the requirements in areas such as content, duration and type.

The panel comprises industry, community and training representatives from:

  • OFT (Chair)
  • Australian Livestock and Property Agents Association (industry)
  • Australian Residential Accommodation Managers Association (industry)
  • Build Skills Australia (registered training organisation)
  • Real Estate Institute of Queensland (industry)
  • Tenants Queensland (community).

Panel membership will be renewed annually and is subject to change.
